Tonnerre Lacté - Milky Thunder. Taken near Mont Mégantic, Québec. Summer 2012. The orange and yellow colours at the horizon are from the light pollution of nearby towns (possibly the city of Sherbrooke). This light is barely visible to the naked eye, and is brought out using a very high ISO setting, as is the Milky Way.
Taken from the top of Smith Rock in Central Oregon. I light-painted the foreground with a flashlight for a few seconds during the long exposure that brought out the stars.
Fondant de bougie. Bandon, Southern Oregon coast. The stars are brought out with the use of an extended exposure and high ISO setting; I light-painted the sea stack with my flash light for a few seconds.
Taken near Cape Perpetua, Central Oregon coast. May 2012.
Moonlit Pacific. The light on the left-hand side of the frame comes from the moon rising from the East. The car trail and the stars are brought out with an extended exposure and hight ISO setting. May 2012, Central Oregon coast.
