Haemorrhaging Town. I made this photo by using an extended exposure which blurred the moving clouds; the sun then painted the sky with a range of red, blue and orange hues; the technique is known as time painting. The intense colours you see in the sky were the work of the sun and the earth's atmosphere, recorded over several minutes of exposure (NOT with Photoshop). A second shot was taken with a shorter exposure to record the buildings and their lights, and the two images were blended together for the final product.
